Another short-term expert mission within the Component I “Improvement of concept and methodology for competence-based education standards” was implemented within the Twinning project from 10 to 21 September 2018 by Mr. Philippe Turek, Deputy Vice Rector of Strasburg University for International Relations, Research and Education Abroad.
The aim of the mission was to provide recommendations for improvement of education standards in pre-defined priority areas with a view to describing achievements based on competences and skills, considering the AzQF.
To this end, the STE held meetings in the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technology and also met with the management and academic staff of the Baku State University, Baku Engineering University, Azerbaijan Oil and Industry University and Sumgait State University to present the French practice of competence-based approach and to carry out the diagnostics of the current situation to be able to provide recommendations on improvement of a study programme in physics. The expert were also hosted by a number of largest employers in Azerbaijan and also Physics Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
As a result of his meetings and discussions in the above-said higher education institutions and largest employers, the short-term expert gave his recommendations on how to revise the state study programme in physics in line with the competence-based approach.
