The second mission under the Component
II Pilot study programmes in priority
areas are improved to be more student-centred of the
Twinning project was implemented from 8 to 12 April 2019.
Mr. Philippe Turek,
Deputy Vice-President for International Relations and Vice-Dean of Faculty of Physics
of Strasbourg University, implemented this mission under the Activity 2.4 Improve study programmes in the priority
areas in pilot universities to incorporate learning outcomes and inform and
raise awareness about these achievements.
The mission was carried out to
raise awareness of academic staff and employers about the suggested version of
the state programme in Physics and further improve the suggested format.
As part of the mission a two-day workshop attended by academic staff
of Physics faculty of Baku State University (BSU) and Sumgait State University
(SSU) was hosted at Baku State
University. During the workshops the academic staff was involved in a broad
discussion over the suggested version of the state study programme in Physics.
The list of subjects, number of credits per subject and competences of the
study programme were particulary discussed during the workshops.
Furthermore, Mr. Turek also met with representatives of employers to discuss the competences required from the graduates of higher education institutions.
More meetings involving the
Strasbourg University professor and academic staff are planned to be held to
further improve the state study programme in Physics in the upcoming months.
